Our latest Praxis Note, written by Helen Collinson and Rod Macleod, seeks to capture the experiences of the Publish What You Pay (PWYP) coalition's work on capacity development with CSOs in seven African countries to promote greater transparency over oil revenues.
Abundant natural resources like oil are often a major impediment to development for many countries. They act as a ‘trap’ which stifles other economic activity and leads to bad governance, coups and conflict. But is this depressing scenario avoidable?
