Regional CTM Workshops

The views expressed in this section are those of civil society organisations in different regions, and do not necessarily reflect those of INTRAC.
In 2006-7 INTRAC organised a series of workshops on the effects of counter-terrorism measures (CTMs) in Europe, South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East, supported by a number of NGOs, including ICCO and Cordaid.
Counter-terrorism measures are only one reflection of the increasing linkages between foreign policy, national security and development agendas in many Northern donor countries. The securitisation of development has serious implications for aid flows, new geopolitical allegiances, human rights and the space for dissent worldwide. A broad range of developmental actors including donors, international NGOs, and Northern and Southern NGOs actively participated in these events.
