Central and Eastern Europe

INTRAC's work in Central and Eastern Europe had the following objectives:

Strengthening Civil Society

INTRAC looked critically at the various roles assigned by international donors to emergent civil society actors, and explored the assumptions underlying the ubiquitous civil society strengthening programmes in the region. INTRAC also explored the interractions between civil society and the state, especially at local levels, and supporting the capacity of actors to engage effectively in complex relationships.

Organisational Capacity Development

INTRAC's Open Training programme is popular with clients from Central and Eastern Europe. INTRAC also responds to requests for tailor-made In-house training courses in the region, with experience of working with a variety of organisations and insitutions.

INTRAC supports local providers of capacity development, as a means of contributing to the growth and sustainability of civil society.
