Sara Methven

Sara Methven is an INTRAC associate focusing on design, implementation, reviews, learning and evaluation of civil society strengthening programmes. This work is rooted in a belief that change is more effective when organisations work together to facilitate links between the interests of marginalised groups and policy makers. She is committed to working with organisations willing to work with others to achieve change.

As a capacity building specialist in INTRAC from 2000 to 2008 she worked with a range of clients, from a farmers, union in Mozambique to international donors in a range of countries across East and Southern Africa.

She uses a range of approaches: organisational capacity building; strategy development; and policy analysis. This built on 10 years of experience facilitating partner and staff capacity building with Oxfam GB and Concern Worldwide in Southern Africa.
She has an MA (Econ) in social policy and social development.
Recent work includes:
Working with the Universities of Oxford and Stanford on institutional analysis of rural water policy in Mozambique.
Design and support to a NSA Capacity Building Programme for the EU Decentralised Cooperation Programme in Mauritius and Rodrigues.

During her time at INTRAC she focused on civil society strengthening , supporting INGOs and donor clients in programme design, reviews and evaluations.
