Principal Consultant

Jan Knight joined INTRAC in February 2008.  She specialises in the areas of civil society strengthening and organisational development, including voice and accountability to support the capacity of civil society to influence issues of governance and human rights, and she has a particular interest in supporting inclusion and the rights of disabled people.

Building on her work with NGOs in Africa and Asia, DFID in Malawi and as a freelance Social Development Consultant her work has supported local NGOs which are moving from a history of implementing projects, to becoming more involved in advocacy and engaging with policy decisions.  Jan has lived and/or worked in over 20 countries of Africa and Asia; she holds a degree in Education and an MSc in International Development Studies.
