Janet Momsen

Janet joined the INTRAC board in 2008. Most of her work has been as an academic working in universities in Brazil, Costa Rica, Canada, the UK and the United States. Janet is aJanet Momsen geographer and agricultural economist by training and has done field research in the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ghana, China, Bangladesh and Eastern Europe.

Her main research focus is related to gender and development, agricultural development and tourism and development. Janet has published 13 books and many articles – for full details of these please visit her university staff page. Janet has undertaken consultancies with US AID, the Ford Foundation and DFID, and was a Board member of AWID in the 1990s.
