Maureen O'Flynn

With a strong background in teaching and teacher training, Maureen has nearly 30 years’ experience of working in both development and humanitarian contexts. Having spent four years as a VSO in Tanzania, and six years as Regional Development Education Adviser in the UK, she has largely worked as a consultant based both overseas (in Nepal, Pakistan and the Lao PDR) and in the UK. She works both independently and as a member (or leader) of teams. Maureen O'Flynn

Her key areas of expertise are in capacity building, organisational assessments and development, reviews, evaluations and impact assessments.

She works as:

  • a facilitator of workshops, strategic planning exercises, participatory evaluations, international conferences and OD processes
  • a trainer for numerous organisations and in various contexts: Among others, she has facilitated training courses in M&E, impact assessment, rights-based approaches to development, organisational assessment, managing change, advanced log frame training, training of trainers and strategic planning
  • an evaluator of development programmes and organisational performance
  • a writer and developer of training materials, good practice guidelines and conference reports and other thematic papers.

She prioritises capacity building, participation, consultation and learning in all of the work that she undertakes.
