Organisational assessment

Recent work includes:

  • INTRAC has recently been involved working with a missionary development organisation dedicated to supporting the work of missionaries. Partner congregations were invited to take part in an organisational capacity assessment, and an INTRAC team was awarded four of these assessments in 2008. Three of the organisational assessments were performed in the organisation’s head offices and field trips to selected African countries to gain a better understanding of the organisational capacity building needs of each congregation.
  • INTRAC was commissioned to design and conduct an organisational capacity assessment for a national Syrian development organisation (recently formed through the merger of a number of smaller NGOs). In order to plan for the next phase of the organisation’s work, INTRAC staff facilitated a participatory capacity assessment process across the organisation’s divisions, projects and programmes and proposed a capacity building plan to enhance sustainable unification.
  • INTRAC staff have been providing ongoing support to a missionary organisation, initially assisting them in doing an organisational assessment of their programmes across the world. Following the assessment INTRAC helped facilitate a one-week workshop in Zambia on strategic planning. The workshop was attended by regional leaders and the congregational leadership team. The organisation is interested in being more effective in their development work and planning their programmes better. Follow up support will be provided once the strategic plans have been completed.
