Reviews, evaluations and impact assessment
- Nile Basin Discourse end of project evaluation
The Nile Basin Discourse is a major regional network covering 10 countries, which seeks to provide a civil society perspective on Nile cooperation and the major investment programmes of the inter-governmental Nile Basin Initiative. In 2008, INTRAC carried out an evaluation for the funder of this programme (DFID), visiting a number of the countries involved and making recommendations to feed into a further phase to be supported by three governmental donors: DFID, CIDA and SIDA.
- INTRAC research staff were commissioned by the Nordic NGO group to write a paper on recent initiatives around the legitimacy, transparency and accountability debate. This cast doubt on some of the attempts to reform NGO development work through codes of practice and recent approaches to accountability.
