Tom Travers

Finance and Administration Director

Tom initially trained and worked as an accountant in the profession and in industry. He moved to CDC in 1980 and was posted to Indonesia asTom Travers Finance Director of a pioneering agricultural project. Subsequent duties comprised feasibility studies and monitoring and appraisal of investments mainly in Central Africa and Indonesia.

Tom moved into line management with Save the Children as Chief Accountant for two years until 1990.

For over 16 years before joining INTRAC in April 2007 he held four positions as a Finance Director in the NHS, including a secondment. The three substantive posts were all created and abolished during his tenure, providing insights into the politics and management of change as well as many strategic financial challenges.

Tom has a maths degree and a PGCE from the University of London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1977.
