Peter has built a career in the international development sector, focussing on the pursuit of operational excellence to help NGOs succeed. He strongly believes that, by building the capacity of individuals and organisations, it will be possible to achieve the ultimate goal of helping people achieve social, economic and environmental justice, wherever they are.

Much of his 20+ years experience has been working as part of senior leadership teams with Concern Worldwide, Oxfam GB and the UN, in Burundi, DRC and Sudan to implement sustainable development programmes. He has also worked extensively as a consultant with funders and grass roots organisations of all shapes and sizes across Africa, Asia, Europe, Russia and the Americas.

Since 2012, Peter has been based in the UK, first as Global Director of Client Services with Humentum (previously Mango), leading a team of expert consultants and trainers, offering services designed to deliver excellence in financial and programme management.  As a member of the leadership team at Mango, Peter played a lead role in the successful merger with LINGOs and InsideNGO to form Humentum in July 2017.

More recently he was Chief Operating Officer at United Purpose overseeing both country programme teams and corporate functions.

In 2020, he went freelance to provide civil society organisations fighting poverty and injustice with support and advice in the areas of governance, finance, people and project management.

Peter has a degree in Management Studies and French from Bradford University and an International Diploma from the ‘Institut Commercial de Nancy’, France. He now lives in Cardiff with his wife and 3 children, and volunteers as a Trustee at the Welsh Centre for International Affairs. It is also the perfect location for pursing his hobby of long distance cycling through the countryside of Wales.
