How INTRAC can support civil society practitioners and organisations in 2026

Having used some of our top publications as a lens to look back on last year, INTRAC is now focused on 2026. After the shockwaves of 2025, this is set to be a crucial 12 months for civil society everywhere. At INTRAC, we are committed to supporting civil society organisations to develop, engage with others, and do what they want to do, better.

What follows is a brief overview of the services we offer to civil society practitioners and organisations: from consultancy, to training, to our library of practice-centred publications. Whatever your challenges and opportunities in 2026, INTRAC is here to support.

High-quality, ethical and values-driven consultancy support

Our highly skilled staff and network consultants stand ready to bring their wealth of experience to bear on your organisation and its projects. Locally rooted and globally connected, our consultants practice ethical and values-driven consultancy to help you overcome your challenges and do what you want to do, better.

Our team of knowledgeable monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) consultants focus on participatory and user-centred approaches that result in genuine learning and practical benefits for people and organisations. We’re ready to meet and discuss your needs for M&E systems, learning partnerships, and evaluations, reviews, and impact assessments. We have a library of past MEL projects to browse through, documenting our work with clients like the British Council, the Climate Ambition Support Alliance (CASA), and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

Organisational development (OD) is key to the success of civil society initiatives and OD support is a central part of what INTRAC does. In our library of past projects, you can read about our work with the Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF), Book Aid International, and on understanding civil society support ecosystems in Latin America and East Asia. Contact us today to discuss how we can assist you with systems change, effective partnerships, organisational change, and transformation.

Together with The Development Hub, we are also able to offer special workshops on leading through transition, uncertainty and crisis.

Level up your skills with our ever-evolving training offer

Whether through our open, scheduled courses or our bespoke, in-house offer, INTRAC’s training programme can help you to enhance your skills. In 2026, we are continuing to develop our offer, building on our longstanding courses and launching new ones to better reflect the changing needs of civil society.

Five scheduled online courses are currently open to applications. These range from established offers like Partner Capacity Strengthening (beginning on 29 January) to our latest new course, Becoming Change Agents for Our Organisation (beginning on 7 May). For training support customised to your specific requirements, be sure to enquire about our in-house training offer. Our experienced trainers can help your organisation to level up its capacity in topics like impact assessment, adaptive management, facilitation, project management, and many more.

In 2025, we launched our new practitioner classes, a chance for rich discussions not only with a thematic expert, but also with your peers. In 2026, our series of classes on M&E in Practice continues, with future series to be announced shortly. To be the first to hear about what’s next, sign up to our newsletter.

A world of free resources to enhance your practice

Our extensive resource library contains over 500 items and will continue to grow in 2026. Our flagship publication is the M&E Universe, a sprawling collection of 120 short, accessible papers covering a wide variety of topics related to monitoring and evaluation practice. Last year, its core section on M&E planning became available for the first time in French, Spanish, and Bahasa Indonesia.

Lately, we have emphasised short papers and published some very useful ones in recent months. These include Allan Moolman’s “Consultants as connectors” (October 2025), an overview of thinking on decolonising MEL (November 2025), and a summary of six key insights from our review of the Education Out Loud programme (January 2026).

We are open to guest contributors interested in publishing new blogs and papers through INTRAC. If you have an idea you would like to discuss with us, and which you think would be of interest to the wider community of civil society practitioners, we would love for you to get in touch. Finally, while INTRAC makes all our resources available freely to practitioners everywhere, you can make a donation to our Knowledge for All campaign to help us build on an extend this legacy.
