In January 2015 INTRAC developed and ran a training course in Nairobi, Kenya, in partnership with the Policy and Advocacy Working Group of the Inter Agency Working Group for Disaster Preparedness in East and Central Africa (IAWG) and the International Federation of the Red Cross. This course built on INTRAC’s extensive experience of supporting advocacy capacity strengthening and civil society voice at the national level.
The course was designed to meet the needs of IAWG members, but was opened up to other organisations based in Kenya interested in advocacy, civil society capacity building, governance and transparency and accountability programmes.
Tailored coaching support subsequently allowed individuals to apply the learning to their work and offered the opportunity to work through current challenges, difficulties and opportunities with a highly experienced practitioner.
