INTRAC’s international development conference in December 2011 focused on civil society, economic growth and the post-aid environment. Recent world events are bringing a new urgency to our conversations about the future of civil society,  leading to complex trends  that are potentially profoundly changing the way that civil society organisations and actors relate, develop and are supported. INTRAC invited people from different perspectives – civil society organisations, private foundations, donors and the public sector – to pause and take stock of what this all means. We explored what is happening and constructed a better understanding of the implications.

This conference report highlights the key presentations, discussions and conclusions from the two days.
