The Development Alternative (TDA) was launched in 2019. It was a consortium of youth and international development organisations that came together to strengthen young people’s voice and agency in development. The consortium co-designed and tested a “model for change”, which placed young people at the heart of an accountability process. This aimed to improve the design and implementation of development projects.

The Cookbook for Youth-Led Accountability is a new, free resource. It captures and shares learning about how to design and run a youth-led accountability initiative. It is based on TDA research, evidence and learning and is intended for use by practitioners. It boils down learning about the key ingredients for youth-led accountability, and how they can be combined into practical recipes. For more information, see the news story supporting the cookbook launch.
