Chances to reflect are always at a premium for a small and busy organisation like INTRAC. However, the last few months have provided some valuable opportunities. These included a Board strategy day, staff away days, refreshed lunchtime seminars for staff and consultants, and participation in external events.

Running through these discussions was recognition of a growing demand for change in the international system from people who are tackling poverty, injustice and discrimination everywhere in the world. Recent flooding near our office in Oxford also makes us reflect on the climate: how it affects us, and how we affect it.

This idea of reflecting on INTRAC’s role in the aid sector and the world is a running theme in our latest newsletter, which begins with a Viewpoint written by our new Chief Executive, Jim Emerson. We also look over our recent work, preview the latest issues of Development in Practice, and welcome new staff to the team.
