Jan KnightJan has 25 years’ international development experience. She has worked for NGOs in the UK, in Africa and Asia, as a DFID Project Manager on a Civil Society empowerment Programme in Malawi; as Principal Consultant with INTRAC and as Civil Society Adviser on the DFID State Accountability and Voice Initiative (SAVI) programme in Nigeria and, independently as Civil Society Adviser on the DFID Justice for All (J4A) programme in Nigeria. Jan specialises in organisational development, building communities of practice around issue-based advocacy, cross-sector voice and accountability, and building the capacity of partnerships to influence good governance and sustainability.  She has a particular interest in gender inclusive approaches and the rights of disabled people.  In Nigeria Jan and has been engaged in establishing Sexual Assault Referral Centres in 11 States of Nigeria, in collaboration with civil society, Ministries of Justice, Health and Gender.

Jan has considerable experience in facilitating, coaching, mentoring and training.  She has developed capacity assessments and provided capacity building support to a range of UK based and international NGOs, across sectors.
